Yelp.com has a stringent policy when it comes to reviews and a lot of reviews from my clients haven’t made the cut. You have to write reviews for a little while on Yelp before you can become a “Yelper”. Once that happens, then your reviews will show up and can be seen, easily, by anybody. Yelp wants to make sure you are a Yelper before your review has merit and probably for good reason, so, I have no problem with that.
Still, I have decided that I am going to post a link to the 37 Yelp reviews from my clients that didn’t make Yelp’s cut. The reason is that each of these clients took time out of their busy schedule to write them. I really appreciate that. Of course, these very positive reviews make my business look good, and I want and like that, but posting a link to them also helps people searching to learn more about the kind of work I do. I am very grateful that Yelp doesn’t totally get rid of these reviews. They just aren’t highlighted.
By the way, do you get turned off when a company or product has all 5 stars? I know I do. But, as one inquirer said to me once. “ I didn’t’ want to call you because I thought, she is just hypnotizing people to think she is SO great! But then I thought, wait, if she can do THAT maybe she is a very good hypnotist. So, I called you.”
Well, the truth is not everybody gets what they want from me. I can not guarantee human behavior, however, my good Yelp and Google ratings come from not only having a very high success rate, literally, because I actually do But also because…
1) I am just really good at vetting people on the phone. I only choose to work with people I think I can truly help.
2) I go over and above to help my clients. I really care and they feel that.
3) Clients usually get a lot out of sessions even if they don’t get exactly what they want. They usually do get what they want, and more, but occasionally, they come to realize that what they thought they wanted wasn’t as important as what the subconscious mind presented as the real problem.
4) I try to always be more than fair. I have a heart. This doesn’t mean I am a pushover, far from it, but I do like to make people happy. In very rare cases I have even given refunds or partial refunds when it really makes sense to do that.
One example is of a mother who really had to scrape her money together to see me, and who was in an abusive relationship. When all our work was done it became apparent that she believed she had to stay in the relationship, because she would have been in poverty otherwise. She wanted to lose weight, and for health, reasons needed to, but the everyday abuse made food her only friend. So, I taught her about emotions, helped her to be stronger, more confident and happier, but she never lost weight. She needed on-going counseling to get her through the amount of time it would take living in that situation until the kids grew up. I thought it was also possible she might, at some point, need to find a shelter and she would need the money for that. So, I refunded her.
So, here are the Yelp reviews that aren’t “recommended” on Yelp. Thank you to everyone who took the time to write them. A small business like mine can’t survive without customers sharing their experiences. I am very grateful to you, and I am very grateful to Yelp and Google. Thanks for being there.
