Use Your Mind to Eat Less

Can you hype yourself up? Can you get yourself to do something with exciting self talk? Are you aware that the ability to hype your mind is one thing that is making you fat?

Most people don’t realize how they are unintentionally hyping their minds to food. Or how they give food more meaning than it really should have. Here are a few examples, allowing yourself to get overexcited to food by saying things like, “Oh my God, I am starving!” Or “Oh my God that looks or tastes SO good.”

Also, observe what you are allowing yourself to be influenced by when it comes to food. I think you will be surprised. Some of the influences come as memories from childhood. You can catch them if you decide to be aware. Thoughts just come up. You’ll be blown a way. Thoughts like, “I need some fun and food will provide that.” Some of them come from friends, “ I better eat that or nobody will like me and I’ll be alone.” and there are many other external and internal stimuli constantly influencing you. But how do you stop it? How do you stop hyping or romancing food?

Losing weight is not simplistic, but the first thing you need to do is simply DECIDE to be more aware of WHAT is causing you to overeat. Next, find someone who gets how the mind works and the many, many, tricky ways we are influenced internally and externally to overeat.

Also, realize weight loss is not a one size fits all thing. If it were, any good diet would work for everyone. You need to find the hidden reasons YOU overeat. Then, and this is the most important part, fix those things, so they don’t bother you anymore!

Good luck in your awareness and your search.

(And oh yes I am one of those people who knows how to help you. )
